  • SAA Investigations Find Ongoing Issues With Photolibrary's Index Stock Payments
    Since last November, when Photolibrary's controller alleged the company had failed to acknowledge and pay $2.2 million in past debts the company owed Index Stock contributors, SAA has investigated the issues raised, and has now contacted 116 of some 1,700 Index Stock contributors. Our findings show most payments have resulted from outside pressure, not the company's initiative.

    Do stock images have embedded metadata? SAA is conducting a MetaSurvey to find out. SAA's Photo Metadata Project is now underway with this comprehensive survey of metadata practices by photographers and stock image distributors. This is the first step in a yearlong project in partnership with the Library of Congress to raise awareness and promote use of standardized, embedded metadata in all digital image files.
